Jharkhand is a state in eastern India known as the” land of forest”. Formation of state in 15th of November 2000 from the territory that had previously been part of Bihar. The word Jharkhand means the State of Forest. Its account for more than 40% minerals resource of India.The state is primarily rural with  only 24% people living in cities.

It has an area of 79,714 square km where the rural area of 77,922 square km and the urban area of 1,792 square km. The area length of Jharkhand from north to south is 380 km and breadth from east to west 463 km.  Jharkhand State 16th ranked position in India according to the area.
